DotPass is an application designed for the efficient generation and retrieval of passwords. Users create a unique password by combining a graphical pattern on a dot grid with a plain text seed word (e.g. "facebook," "work email," or any other personally meaningful phrase). This distinctive combination acts as the basis for generating the password.

Upon creation, users can easily copy the password with a tap. Furthermore, if Continuity/Handoff is configured between devices, the password can be seamlessly pasted on a Mac using the Universal Clipboard functionality.

The premise behind DotPass lies in the belief that graphical patterns and plain seed words are more memorizable compared to complex passwords. Altering either the pattern or seed word leads to an entirely new password. This allows for reuse of a single pattern with various seed words across different accounts, providing distinct passwords for each account.

<li>Users have the option to choose between 9 or 18-character passwords.</li>
<li>For heightened security, the application automatically clears copied passwords from the pasteboard post usage.</li>

In addition to the mobile version, DotPass offers a macOS counterpart available on the Mac App Store, enabling convenient access to passwords across devices.

For password security, it is imperative to safeguard both the pattern and seed words with utmost secrecy, similar to protecting traditional passwords. In situations where privacy is a concern, users can utilize the app's supplementary features to conceal the pattern, seed word, or password after input. To reinforce security measures, the app resets automatically if left idle in the background for over a minute.
